Outreach Programs
Part of Brickton’s commitment to the arts in the community is realized through its art outreach programs. These are meaningful art opportunities provided at-cost or free to other community groups and underserved populations. Each outreach program is thoughtfully developed and facilitated by master level art therapists who have clinical training in working with adults, geriatrics, children and at-risk youth. Currently, Brickton has working relationships with Lutheran General Hospital’s Oncology Specialists, Have Dreams, The Summit of Uptown, and MaineStay Youth & Family Services. Other outreach events have been hosted with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, the Illinois Art Therapy Association, the local Farmer’s Market, Avenues to Independence, St. Matthew Center for Health, the Park Ridge Teen Center, and more.
MaineStay Youth and Family Services
Brickton continues to work with MaineStay Youth and Family Services offering an after-school program for kids ages 8-14 years old. Art In The Town is offered in 10 week sessions in the Fall and Spring. Students are exposed to a wide variety of art media in a safe environment. Each April there is an exhibit of the participants' artwork in Brickton's gallery.

Have Dreams
Have Dreams and Brickton Art Center have been collaborating for over five years. Brickton Art Center continues to provide art therapists to work with the children and teens with autism at Have Dreams every Thursday.
The Summit of Uptown
Brickton offers art classes in a variety of media two times a month for the residents at the Summit. This is a special time to be creative and social while learning new techniques in art.
Sally's Studio @ Lutheran General Hospital's Advanced Center for Care
Our journey begins with Lutheran General Hospital and their Advanced Center for Care. We provide 2 hour art therapy activities every week for adult patients receiving chemotherapy at Oncology Specialists. Our goal is to help make a patient's day a bit brighter as they receive their cancer treatment. It is our hope that this program will open the door to the art world, provide meditative relaxation, or simply put a smile on each patient's face.
This program is made possible by The Schneider Family Fund, the BTB Foundation, and other private donations. Alyssa Kulak, Executive Director of the Brickton Art Center is a licensed Art Therapist who facilitates the sessions. Sally's Studio is completly free to all patients receiving cancer treatments at Oncology Specialists and is intended to promote healing, balance and good vibes.
