Information about Fine Art Classes at Brickton Art Center
Brickton Art Center offers a large variety of high quality fine arts classes for ages two years through adult, for students of all experience levels, beginning to advanced. Our range of classes includes a variety of media and disciplines, from ceramics, painting, drawing, sculpture, jewelry, to fashion, knitting, performing arts and more! Experienced art professionals teach our classes in a comfortable & safe environment that promotes exploring the creative process and personal expression.

Youth Fine Art Classes & Workshops

Brickton Art Center's youth education program serves students ages three through fourteen. We strive to introduce them to diverse mediums and disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, as well as the fundamentals of art and art history. Class sizes range from five to fourteen students grouped appropriately by age. Lessons based on works of master artists, children's literature, and other significant cultural resources are offered in our early childhood art education classes as well as older youth classes. Education benefits that your children receive through the Brickton Art Center¹s fine art program include, exploring new ways to communicate, developing self-esteem, developing a cooperative attitude through creativity and experimentation. Classes are held in 4 or 8-week sessions. Workshops typically run 1 to 4 hours in one or two day session.

Preteen/Teen Fine Art Classes & Workshops (10 - 14)
The teen fine art program at Brickton Art Center incorporates unique studio based classes where students have the opportunity to progress at their own pace while receiving instruction from our professional staff. Our program serves students age eleven through sixteen. The instructor, with regards to each project, takes each student's past experience and skill level into consideration. This dynamic curriculum facilitates individual development, encourages self-discipline, critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical judgment, thus enriching the creative process of each student. Classes are held in 4 or 8-week sessions. Workshops typically run 1 to 4 hours in one or two day session.

Adult Fine Art Classes & Workshops
The adult fine art classes at Brickton Art Center, taught by practicing professional artists or art educators, are appropriate for ages sixteen and up and all skill levels are welcomed to participate. A diverse range of disciplines and media are routinely offered and new subjects are continually added as interest demands. Typical class size is between four to twelve students, promoting individual attention, allowing each student to develop at their own pace. Classes are held in 4 or 8-week sessions. Workshops typically run 1 to 4 hours in one or two day session.


Creative Ceramics (Tuesday evening 7:00pm - 9:00pm) - sign up online

One day workshop is a chance for your child to work on a creative project while learning some art-making skills along the way!  * Must register for these workshops at least 24 hours in advance.

Class Term Dates
Classes run once a week for 4, 5, 6 or 8 week sessions, depending on the season and class, unless noted otherwise. Workshops are one or two days as described in the workshop listing. You can register on line or in person. Please mail or drop off your completed registration form to Brickton Art Center, 306 Busse Hwy., Park Ridge, IL 60068. More Info About Classes at Brickton Art Center
Projects change from session to session. For returning students, past experience and skill level will be taken into consideration by the instructor with regards to projects. Project descriptions may be subject to change. Artists of all experience levels, beginning to advanced are welcome in adult classes. All student work must be picked up from Brickton within a month after the last day of class. Our storage space is very limited. Please make an effort to pick up your child¹s artwork promptly so that it is not disposed of.



If a class is canceled or if the schedule of a class is changed so that a student enrolled in that class can no longer attend, BAC will fully refund the tuition of that class. If a student withdraws from a course before it begins, tuition will be refunded or a full credit can be given. If a student drops a course any time between the first class and the middle class BAC will retain tuition for the classes attended but student will be refunded the rest. Not attending a class does NOT constitute an official withdrawal from a course or cancellation of tuition and fees. Make-up classes are handled on an individual basis.  

Brickton staff will attempt to accommodate missed classes but there is no guarantee. Refund requests can be made via email, in person, or over the phone. Requests must be made within 10 business days after the last class meeting. Your receipt, cancelled check or proof of I.D. may be required. Refund checks will be made payable to the original payee and mailed within 15 business days. All refund requests should be directed to Brickton at 847.823.6611.
